Thirty-four years ago, the founders of Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week hoped to create an educational experience where the youth of Pennsylvania could learn about the wonders of our private enterprise system and what it means to our democratic form of government. That tiny first program, with fewer than 100 students, has grown to be an internationally acclaimed annual event modeled by dozens of other states and foreign countries. In 2012, over 1,650 students graduated.

To accommodate the ever increasing number of young people hoping to take the "PFEW journey", PFEW is now being held at two different campuses - Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology, both located in Williamsport, PA. Our mission is simple:  "To heighten the awareness of Pennsylvania's youth about their future role in the American free enterprise system by delivering high-quality and practical hands-on learning experiences." Our commitment, indeed our vision statement, is "to be the recognized leader in providing quality learning opportunities that promote the understanding of the link between personal freedom and economic opportunity".
